Prenatal Massage

Pregnant women deal with many changes in their bodies. Balance of the body is shifting because of belly and breast growing, causing extra strain on the back and legs. From laying on their side their hips and shoulders get tender and don’t get enough circulation. Some also struggle with nausea, fatigue, and anxiety. Does it sound familiar?

Massage therapy can help to restore circulation and release tension from those overworking muscles. So how is prenatal massage different? First and foremost since we specialize in prenatal massage we know exactly how to perform it safely with it being very effective. It’s believed that pregnant women can’t use deep tissue or firm pressure, but from our experience, they actually need it more.

Second, we offer face down position which is possible thanks to a set of special bolsters. It’s safe for you and for the baby. They create support by holding you up and creating spaces for your belly and often tender breasts to just float without putting any pressure on it. Our bolsters are adjustable to fit any body constitution compare to tables with belly cutouts a lot of spas use. You can use a face-down position all the way to 38-40 weeks. If you don’t feel comfortable with that, we also have special bolsters for side and face-up positions. You can always try one or another by communicating with your therapist to find what works best for you.

We are supporting you through your pregnancy and even offer labor induction massage. Have you heard of it? Well, labor induction massage is a mix of working on your hips and back trying to open it up to ease the labor process, and acupressure to stimulate uterus contractions, dropping the baby lower and again opening up your hips.

Postnatal Massage

The postnatal period is a period of restoration and connecting back with your body after a major change.

Usually, during these massages, we use firm pressure but very broad strokes because due to hormonal changes and stress induced on the body in labor women tend to be a little more sensitive.

We have special bolsters which take pressure off breasts during breastfeeding period as well as support your hips and belly since your core is weaker after pregnancy. It also works very well for women that had a c-section by not putting pressure on fresh incision.

While focusing on balancing your body during postnatal massages we also offer upon request post baby lymph drainage (see results), milk production massage, which can be incorporated into your session. as well as and c-scar mobilization treatment which focuses on softening scar tissue and helping tissues to heal properly to minimize appearance and side affects afterwards.
